By nichemarketing | November 20th, 2009

There are plenty of damin names out there with potential. Potential means nothing without a business plan. If you have a domain name that you feel is worth money, you are wrong. A domain name by itself is worthless unless there is someone out there who is willing to invest in it.

Making money from domain names is not limited anymore to the buying and selling of domain names.
True, the true value of a domain name is hard to predict. Its value is dictated by the amount of money a person/organization is willing to pay for it. It’s a hit and miss business – you may find some names you think are worth high only to find no takers.
But the business of domain name has evolved. Before, your only option is to buy a domain name, and wait for someone interested to buy it. Now you can earn money from your domain names without selling them. All you have to do it to put advertising on it. Google has a domain park program where you can put Adsense ads on your domain. And wait for type in traffic (those who type in the URL and make misspellings so instead of landing on the site they want to go they go elsewhere.)

add your URL to search engines

Your domain name should also be your business name, or else describe in good strong keywords what your business is and offers, and should also coincide with the strongest keywords used in your web site content – those that anyone searching for your particular product and/or service would be most likely to type into a search engine. The words in your domain name should also be hyphen-separated, so that the search engines read it as separate words… all this will help increase the relevancy of your keywords, and help assure optimal ranking in search resuts/hits.
    An example: http://www.work-from-home-dot.ws/
Which temporarily redirects to http://website.ws/road2success/, but will have a web site built in the near future.
