4 Simple, Low-Cost Tactics to Generate Online Traffic

Most seeking Internet marketing success quickly discover that traffic is critical to achieving their goal.  Yet most new online marketers start with very limited funding.  They don’t have the resources to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to generate the traffic they need.  Fortunately there are some online traffic generation tactics that take little money to use.

1.    Article marketing.  One of the most powerful low-cost strategies is article marketing.  Don’t be fooled into thinking this is a free strategy just because all you need to do is write articles.  Your time is valuable, and article writing and submission takes time.  It is important to write and submit as many articles as possible every day.  However don’t sacrifice quality for quantity.  Get training on both article writing and article marketing to maximize the results.  Keep writing to power your business toward the Internet marketing success you seek.

2.    Giveaway events.  Start by creating a short, relevant downloadable report.  Join a few giveaway events and you will start seeing the traffic build and opt-in for your list.  There are two very different thoughts on participating in giveaway events.  The first is that since those coming are looking for free products they won’t ever become responsive subscribers for your list.  The other is that opt-in subscribers who are treated right will become responsive to you and your offerings.  Test the waters to find out for yourself.  However do not make this your only strategy for generating traffic.

3.    Traffic swaps or exchanges.  This is a great strategy for generating online traffic.  In fact, properly managed, the traffic you see will be extremely targeted.  Begin by contacting other marketers in your niche and offer a mailing of their offer to you list in exchange for a mailing of your offer to their list.  There are many details to coordinate such as the specific size of the mailing – obviously you both want to receive about equal exposure.  The date and time of the mailing and other details can generally be worked out in one of or two emails to each other.

4.    Word of mouth.  As the word gets out about your knowledge in their area of interest, subscribers will tell each other, and your subscriber list grows.  It will take time and effort to build the word about you online.  As a result this free method will probably be the last one to kick in.  However, once it does, there will be a flow of traffic – small at first, but bigger over time.

Be sure to maximize the results you obtain by trying as many of these strategies as possible.  Keep track of results and focus extra effort on those methods that work best at generating quality online traffic for you.
